Yesteryear Collection

1960 saw the introduction of the type ‘D’ style box, these were larger boxes than the original line drawing ones and were designed to be able to contain the larger models that were now being produced.

There are 3 distinct sub categories of this style box, the first; the type ‘D1’ box.

The D1 Type, went to a completely different format. The model was now shown in colour on a plain yellow background. The banner changed to 'Models of Yesteryear' in a bolder script on a very plain box front.
The script on the end flaps of the box now describes the model instead of just a number.
